Got this to speed up in game messaging, its well built and does everything you need it to, the only thing better would be an actual keyboard.
I bought this with no intention of attaching it to the controller as I don't send messages that often, I just use it detached.
It works normally this way too, as it does not require the controller to work, it just attaches to it for ease of use I guess.
1 star lost because I would like to see a stand alone version (so it would sit flat in your hands). There are other third party keyboards available but after reading the reviews they don't have all the shortcut keys, Caps lock etc that this has.
Totally recommend buying this, as being an official product, it works perfectly and utilises all the shortcut benefits.

This official keypad from SONY is essential for ps3 if you are online and makes sending messages very simple and easy. Great design, long battery life, absolutely recommended!

A good easy to use product. Very nice design. Not quite easy to use the touchpad but I guess with some practice you'll get the hang of it. Does not block access to any of the buttons and stays out of your way when you're not using it. Would warmly recommend it! - one star because I am not using it a lot but I gather many younger chat using kids will rate this one 5 stars.

Faster and much better than the on screen keypad. Easy with little fingers or a stylus pen. Fits in nicely on top of the controller and are made for each other. Remember to switch it ON before use and OFF after use. Instructions are found useful if you bother to read them.
